style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act was enacted on June 26, 1998, and is officially known as Act No. 13 of 1998.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" By:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act is primarily governed by the following bodies:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Board of Governors:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0Each Institute has a Board of Governors, responsible for the general superintendence, direction, and control of its affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Senate:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0Each Institute has a Senate, responsible for maintaining standards of instruction, education, and examination.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Council:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0A central body established under Section 30A, responsible for coordinating the activities of all the Institutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Visitor:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0The President of India acts as the Visitor, with the power to review the work and progress of the Institutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Director:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0The principal academic and executive officer of each Institute, responsible for its administration and academic performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">4: On Whom It Is Applicable:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act applies to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs) listed in the Schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Board of Governors, Senate, and other class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Central Government, which provides grants and issues directions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">5: Penalties\/Punishments:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p However, it empowers the authorities to take disciplinary actions against staff and students for misconduct or violation of regulations. The Act also provides for the Central Government to issue directions to the Institutes for efficient administration. The Act also allows the Visitor to take action based on reports of inquiries, and the Board to take action against staff and students for misconduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">6: Important Pointers:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act declares the listed institutions as institutions of national importance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">It provides for the establishment of a Board of Governors for each
