oversight functions related to civil aviation security.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Aircraft Accidents Investigation Bureau (AAIB):<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\u00a0Established under Section 4C, the AAIB is responsible for investigating aircraft accidents and incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">4: On Whom It Is Applicable:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act applies to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All aircraft and aerodromes within India.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All citizens of India, wherever they may be.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All persons on aircraft registered in India, wherever they may be.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All persons on aircraft registered outside India while in or over India.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Any person operating an aircraft who is not a citizen of India, but has a principal place of business or permanent residence in India.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">All persons engaged in the manufacture, possession, use, operation, sale, import, or export of aircraft.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">5: Penalties\/Punishments:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act includes provisions for penalties and punishments to ensure compliance:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ng-star-inserted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Contravention of rules regarding the carriage of arms, explosives, or dangerous goods can result in imprisonment for up to two years, a fine up to one crore rupees, or both.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Failure to comply with directions issued under Section 5A can lead to imprisonment or a fine, or both.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Wilful flying in a manner that causes danger can result in imprisonment, a fine, or both.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">Disobeying orders issued in an emergency can lead to imprisonment, fines, and forfeiture of aircraft or related equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act also includes provisions for penalties for abetment of offenses and attempted offenses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act empowers the Central Government to establish class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The Act defines \u201caircraft\u201d broadly to include any machine that can derive support in the atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ng-star-inserted\">\n<p class=\"ng-star-inserted\"><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">It establishes the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security
